CORNER WEIGHT GAUGE

Hello,

I have been collecting informations and prices for corner weighting of my car.

Being located in Belgium, it's not easy to find a company here able (or ready) to do it ... and it would certainly be expensive.

Prices are more affordable in UK but that means traveling to UK (time and cost!).

So I'm now considering the option of buying a Corner Weight Gauge ...

So here is the question :

Can you please point me in the right direction to find a cheap corner weight gauge supplier?

...

or is someone considering to sell his used one?

Thanks, Stefano

Have you considered the cost of 4 sets of bathroom scales? Not as accurate, but probably enough for amateur use!

I know someone who has used this method and he reckons it's fine.

I can't find cheap scales weighting more than 120 ... 150 Kg max!

My car is +/- 700 Kg and I am +/- 100 Kg so I need heavy duty scales that cost as much as a cheap corner weight gauge or a used one ... I think.

I used eight sets of bathroom scales with a beam accross each pair. Weights were not that far away from those found at the SVA test.

Hi the guage that Ecosse posted up is your best bet.

People who use bathroom scales will be so far out that you are gaining nothing by doing it that way.

A profesional corner weight set up will cost you no more than £30 by a profesional who knows what he is doing and taking in to acount the shock travel and ride height in the prosses. No good to Lightspear 27 but for thoes in the uk who must be within a 2hour drive of somebody who can do it i dont see the point in compromising.

cheers matt

There are plans available on the net for making your own corner weight guage.

The reading they give is not important as long as it is consistent. Just note what the reading is and convert it into a percentage of the total weight. For the cars total weight you should be able to get it done at a weighbridge.
