Front calipers, viento
Hi all, im in the process of collecting parts to build a luego viento. Will sierra 2wd cosworth discs and 4 pot calipers fit the standard hub?

I looked at this option but discounted it because the discs and callipers weigh a tonne! Also seem to remember that there was something odd about the
bolting on of the callipers, think the cosworth upright may have been tapped instead of the calliper mounting bracket (opposite to normal sierra)
could be wrong though!!! If you already have the callipers go for it but if you don’t I wouldn’t bother buying them!

I think your right pathfinder. I am trying this setup and will need to use nuts and bots to secure the calipers to the uprights. I'm sure this
will be ok.......maybe

viento brakes
I used the sierra vented non abs brake discs and they seem to have plenty of stopping power.
The car will only weigh about 800 kgs or less and the sierra was close to 1300kgs.
Unless your on the track a lot you wont need large brake discs.
Its easy to go overboard, but we forget how light these cars are in relation to normal vehicles.

I have an sd1 vitesse inj engine from a running donar £300. Ive started to strip an xr4x4 for the diff etc and have standard front hubs already.
My rh 2b has standard vented discs but i thought the viento needed more stopping power.

There is a problem with the offsets of the discs too
its been done on a few sierra's and a few dax's as far as I know
I think you need to use the cossie 2wd discs (283mm) to get the space for the caliper in most wheels (not the 278 4x4 discs)
which then means you need to remove some of the mounting lugs on the hubs
I used to have some pics of this but I can't find them - try the FSOC
