Swapping Wishbones
I just wanted to run this by some people here. Not sure if its just me. I'm changing my wishbones after my recent mishap and the new ones are
slightly wider. The problem I'm facing is that one lower bone fits the existing brackets and one doesn't so that'll have to come
off, no problems (think its down to the bone tolerances I've noticed they can be very slightly different). With the top bones though the
brackets are less than a millimetre to small but if I squeeze it in it'll go but is not wholly free to swing, it only takes a very slight
pressure but it'll hold itself at an angle if I don't press it which I presume it will do if I tighten the bolts up anyhow. If I talk to
the brackets a little with the hammer then all's well.I could file the brackets down a little along with the crush tubes which would be a
solution or I would like to re weld the brackets but trying to grind them off is causing damage and its very tight to get in there. Any suggestions?
Will I be alright doing this as it is? Like I say its literally only a fraction of a mill.

Oops I'll apologise now then. I normally search but I've just walked in out of the garage after sitting there thinking about it. Thanks
though.

Could you take 1mm off one of the faces of one of the bush tubes?
Cheers,

Certainly. Half mm off each side would be more than adequate but would this be acceptable. Just after the reassurance I suppose, running gears the
biggest thing for me that I don't wanna bodge and end up with wheels doing funny tricks as I drive down the road!

Perfectly ok as long as you are not significantly cutting into the weld between wishbone and bush tube. Would certainly be my prefered solution over
chopping fully welded chassis brackets off.
