Sierra diffs
anyone know which sierras have limited slip diffs? or where I can find out?

Try and find a 4x4 as I'm sure they had the 7" mounting one fitted. I got mine from local Ford breakers £75, had loads on the shelf,
suspect some Granadas had them fitted. Cossie one is a bit of hassle as different flanges and bigger, 7.5", fitting.
Good number of breakers at Canvey Island...Those Essex boys just love their Fords.

according to my ford owner manual with my 1987 granada donor, limited slip was an option on everything. This included the V6 models.
I wonder how many average joe executives would have bought that option.....

Yup, 4x4s and XR4x4s, not XR4s though, and cossies are just too damn expensive either way. And as for granadas? Who knows!

Is there an easy way to identify the LSD over a standard diff?

If it's in a car jack the back end up and spin a wheel, suppose you could stick drive shafts in a removed one and turn.

Try turning the output flanges in opposite directions, if it does easily, it's an open diff, if it barely does, and takes a lot of effort,
it's an LSD, if it doesn't at all, it's knackered (although it really is hard work to turn the flanges in opposite directions with
your hands on an LSD, and it's probably even worse if it's been sitting for some time.)
