Lower Ball Joint Troubles
Just been tightening my nuts up ready to drop it on its wheels and the upright didn't seem to be bottoming on the bottom ball joint which I know
has been mentioned on here before so I just kept tightening the nut and the bugger stripped. Looking at it it seems that the taper on the ball joint
is different to the taper on the upright as there's now a slight 'ring' or 'collar' in the uprights taper. I bought the
ball joints off some tosser on E bay but I'm thinking now he's gave me the wrong ones. Are the maxi and sierra tapers the same and are
there variants like in vehicle age or summat?

not the same at all im afraid, sierra hubs need the taper changing
either DIY, or nearest to you is probably MNR to get it done.

Arse Cheers Joel. Is there any ball joint that does fit GTS bones and Sierra upright without mods? Does DIY involve just filing it carefully to
avoid excess movement between the two?

Chris when you first came and had a gander at my chassis im sure i mentioned this to you
(in fact i bought my uprights pre done from joel)
It really needs to be done properly for a goodfit, iirc you can buy the tool to do it cheaper than sending them off to get it donedue to postage costs
but i cartn remember the exact taper size, their is a thread on here *somewhere* with a link to the correct taper reamer
