GTS - De Dion
Hi All,
I've had a couple of people enquire with me about De Dion setups. So in response i am in the process of designing a system and when its complete
i will have it manufactured. I'll be adding pictures and details to my website as it progresses, email me if you wish to express interest.
Kind regards,
Darren

Darren,
If you design it to be a retrospective fit for live axle cars then you will increase your market tenfold! (like me, for example).
Obviously new framing has to be put in to hold the Sierra diff, but if it can use the same swinging arms, shock mounts, etc. then you're on to a
winner, I reckon.

Darren,
Glad to hear it, I was beginning to wonder if I was sending emails to the wrong address or something.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance as I think I am one of only a few existing members of the de-dion club here. (Stu16V and Macca the only
others I am aware of and blueshift of course who seems keen to go that way too)
Cheers,
Craig.

Hi Craig,
Sorry for not replying to you, i've got lost in the mire recently so much going on. Basically the De Deon was something i was asked about by
some Caterham owners, keen to build something that didn't keep bending and throwing the geometry out. I have to also work on a carbon De Dion
for some serious Caterham boys, so i thought it would be a sensible start to do a steel one to suit Locosts and then go from there.
Also one of the other things i have on the go again for the racey Caterhams is a new diff arrangement because the Sierra is everso heavy. I have half
designed a Magnesium housing to take lighter crown wheels etc.. Saves about 4 kgs over all.
Craig did you ever draw your design up or did you make it on the fly so to speak? I would be interested to know a few key dimensions.
Kind regards,
Darren
