lolocost shocking
warning to you all who are contemplating buying zeemeride shocks from lolocost. DON'T BOTHER.ordered mine, only to find that when they arrived
they were not to their book, also 43mm longer,so after a 63 mile jaunt to take them back, to exchange them, they had non in stock, so i asked for a set
when they become available, only to be told that they did'nt expect any of the old type in. so i asked for a refund for £150 ,which i got ,
but i was told never to come back as they would not be dealing with me again, any way the moral of this story is if you require shocks go to
gtstuning and get QUALITY service from darren (no connection)

I looked at some of their parts at a show a couple of years ago and accidently dropped a wishbone, when i picked it up there was a visible crack in
the welding.
maybe they should rename to
lolocost nonoquality

I've got Lolocost wishbones and there is a bit of spatter but the welds look very strong. The quality is very poor in terms of finish and they
need fettling before use but they are probably better than I could have done myself in all honesty.
However, look elsewhere is my opinion because there are better wishbones out there for the same or slightly more money.
By the way, it is bloody aweful that they said they wouldn't deal with you again!! I wish they had said that to me 'cause I'd have
started rolling around laughing at the fact they thought I'd ever want to come back in the first place...
Cheers,
Craig.

Steve, if you tell us one more time that your car is not a standard Locost I'll shoot you with a ball of your own shit.

Yeah, it was. I thought id delete it and have another go this morning
This delete function could really get peeps in trouble. I get as pi$$ed saying its 'non std' as much as people probably do reading it for
the 1000 th time. Thing is, AlanB and myself are building cars so far from 'book' I find for my part I have to mention it or people may
not understand my angle.
What I said was - paraphrased
My car isnt standard (oops!) and could do with some longer rear shocks to increase the ride height which has dropped a bit once the springs are
loaded. I dont want to use preload, cos at the moment the car sits nicely a thrid into the stroke. I just need a bit more height.
So, I have a new, never on the road, REAR ONLY (keeping the fronts) set of rear shocks from lococost (zeemerides) with the std red springs and book
length.
If anyone wants to do a swap, im up for it. U2U me. I will pay the postage, which is onlt about a fiver, cos I really dont wanna make up rear shocker
mounts again.
Methinks 'non std' explained whats going on.........and just for Paul Ill try and use different ways of saying it from now on.
1. my morgan lookalike
2. my non book car
3. my overcomplicated deviant car (matches builder)
4. my locost based derivative
5. my 6m ins wider and about a foot longer and 4 ins higher car.
6. my car with doors, full wings, bumpers and a lcoking boot.
7. just good old 'my car is unstandard, being a locost derived morgan replica'.
a poll perhaps?

Is your car not standard then Steve?

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

What is a 'Standard' locost? Even the book deviates from page to page!

no chris.
didnt you notice in the previous 1900+ posts!
Your comment once of summat like 'the driving experience isnt proportional to how long it takes to build' is summat I dont forget!
I coulda had a nice std locost outside now. I look forward tho to people next year going 'thats never a locost'or ' wtf is
that'.

Which I ignored to some extent and you completely disregarded!

yes.
mr six month, went to night school to learn how, nosecone!
everything takes six months on my car.
I have however, fully appreciated the simplicity of a book car like none other on this site. Except perhaps AlanB,

Yeah, I suppose if anything its a bit like a Marlin. But a marlin has a real crappy looking front, and more of a MG rear. And who would want to call a
car after a fish!
There was quite a few at Stoneleigh tho.
Building a Marlin might be an age thing. Reason I didnt build a 'book' car was I didnt just want a weekend blaster. Id like to go touring
with my wife in it. As my 2 1/2 year ownership of an XJ-S was a waste of time due to family incompatabilities (she hated it) I thought Id build a
derivative that might get used for more than an hr every 2 weeks. As much as I have grown to like the seven since I started the build, I dont think I
would keep one for long....

Steve,
So many choices but I rekon 1 or 3 should do it. Not too sure about 5 though? 6m wider? not a standard Locost? no shit.
Keep up the good (non standard) work.
