Propshaft question

Just been looking at my propshaft - it's the two section one as used on the vans and estates. By the looks of things, with carefull positioning of the gearbox the rear section would be the right length for the Locost so my question is this - how easy (or not) is it to split the universal joints (ie to move the gearbox spline onto the other shaft). The Haynes book of lies says they're not repairable but they look like they'll come apart. Any comments before I wreck it?

The universal joints are staked in ,thats why YOU cannot replace them, try propshaft services in feltham but make sure the length is right first, you may need a cut n shut

Cheers mate - I'll give them a ring. Hopefully getting my engine on Wednesday (1.8 Zetec - the 130 bhp one) so then I'll see if it'll fit.

Tried to ring you today about the wheel bearings but no answer Will catch up with you next week sometime.
