More X progess and some help!
I made the diff carrier frame this morning.
That bit of studding will be the pivot point at the bottom and I will have to make a couple of arced channel guides at the top and weld on some
adjusters etc.
I am having problems undoing the nylocs on the diff as they fit snug into a recess and the bolt is tight against the housing. They are as tight as
hell and my impact sockets won't fit!
Any such thing as a thin impact socket?
Once I get them off, I will replace them with cap heads.

Some other progress today, bones will be slightly angled up on final adjustment. They are not parrallel........honest!

have you got an old impact socket you could sacrifice? then grind off just enough to get it to fit?

You could use a cold chisel and big hammer to get them started if you are very careful around the casting.
Can you get at the bolt heads on the sprocket side? Could you use the impact gun that side, again to get them started (bad form turning bolts rather
than nuts, but you aren't reusing them).
If you can afford to sacrifice a normal socket you 'could' use that in the impact gun if they aren't too tight you should get away
with it - wear eye protection and big gloves as they can shatter.

It looks like I will have to buy some thinner sockets. On the sprocket side, the bolt head is just touching the casing so a socket won't fit
over them.

i had to use a normal socket (6 sided though, not 12) to get the diff hanger off as the impact ones were too wide to get in there.
FREE THE ROADSTER ONE…!!

not exactly sure were these awkward bolts/nuts are but i find if the impact wrench wont do it a well made spanner and a hammer used to tap it with he
right force works very well. if you only need to do this job once could you not just use a standard socket? as there sometimes thiner

I sorted the sprocket out!
Halfords do a 17mm impact socket that is narrow for getting alloy wheel nuts off.
It is made by laser and is £7.99
new sprocket
