MotaLeira uprights

Just back from the platers.
Because of a few minor plating problems, they will be powder coated as well.

If there are problems with the plating surely it's up to the plater to have another go to correct the problem.

Will powdercoat even stick to a shiny plated surface? (without them being blasted first)

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

The trouble with plating hollow objects is you have to drill holes to drain the fluid during the process, so it was my gamble as I didn't want any extra holes.
I only have one upright that has some slightly exposed metal. Plating and powder coating should cover everything!

Nitram:

Are the brass looking pieces in the wishbone/rod ends for easy adjustment of camber and toe etc?

I am an Electrician who works shifts.
Sleep, what's that?
I get about 3-4 good quality hours during the day, but I also get days off in between shift changes.

The Brass looking adjusters are plated steel and enable the rod end to be wound in and out without having to dismatle the suspension.
Sure it is more work, but it will make setting the suspension up very quick and therefore very cheap (if I get someone to do it). I have an old 4 wheel tracker.
The other thing is that adjustments will be more accurate as a rod end is limited to a 180 degree turn. I can adjust mine one degree at a time.
Afterwards I will lock wire them.

It's looking great!

I'm always intrigued to see your progress photo's - do you have any sketches of what the finished article will look like or are you keeping it under wraps?

It's going to look like the atom, except the seats are different and it will be R1 powered.
Have a look in my photo archive under Project X.
I even have an original nose for it!
