Sierra LSD's: questions questions questions???
seen a 4x4 estate in the local scrappers, and have some questions:
1, was the LSD fitted to all 4x4 sierras?
2, how do i check if an LSD diff is ok?
3, if i'm removing it of the car, whats a fair price including drive shafts?
4, do the drive shafts fit into the drum brakes (which i have sat arround in mid re-conditioning), or will i need to go whole hog and take the rear
hubs, brake setup, handbrake lever etc?
Please feel free in advance to: correct, update, ridicule or laugh and point at any comments made by myself in this post....

I think the drums would fit but no guarantees. Why would you want to anyway? Discs all the way!!

The drive shafts are different on the LSD/rear disc cars, not sure if the drum brake drive shafts will fit, you will need to check the flanges are the
same and the driveshaft lengths will be unaltered. If you do change to rear disc check your rear uprights will be OK, I know MK supply different
uprights for rear disc set up.
A quick check to see if diff is LSD is to turn the diff input shaft and make sure both output drive shafts turn together in the same direction. I
would say £50-£70 is fair if he removes from the car and it's in good condition.

I don't think the shafts will fit the diff but I think the drums will fit the disc shafts.
Turn one wheel (with the prop still on and in gear) - if the other wheel flicks the opposite way then turns the same way it's LSD, if it turns
the opposite way all the time it's 'normal'
