Hubcentric adaptors opinions please

I have had some hubcentric adaptors machined up so I can use some lotus 340r wheels on sierra hubs. (see pic)

They make the track on my indy a couple of inches wider than usual at the front and back. But has anyone got any opinions on the adaptors? is the concensus that they are safe? mine are 20mm thick.

The wheel swere given to me foc, and I have had some toyo proxes put on. I really would like to use these wheels but will use sierra ones if it is forseen that I will have problems.

Thanks.

can't see the image, but generally I would say up to an inch of spacing is no prob (I have 1" spacers on the rear of mine with 10" rims & 285 section tyres, that certainly generates some g forces, but no probs in 1200 miles of hard use) when you are using the bolt on type spacers, the ones with extended studs are not very clever.

Can see the image now, did you do something or has my pc just woken up?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Think your pc has just woken up

I have got std studs on the hubs and there is only 1" threaded pressed into the hub adaptors. My front tyres are 195 and rears 225. I guess a wider track will help with grip as you suggested Russ.

No problems with those Steve. I've got 1" spacers on my rear wheels and the only difference is that mine have the same pcd for the original wheels - oh and mine are steel.
As long as the hubcentric part is a good fit you shouldn't have any problems. You might need some lower profile wheel nuts to stop them fouling the wheels though.

The nuts sit nicely in the big holes on the pic above. All fits fine when on the car, I am really looking for reasurance that they wont fail in normal use. They don't help much with unsprung weight though!

You can buy adaptors like that for rangerovers so you can fit later wheels, I seen people racing with them and not failed so on a light car like these they should be fine.

I trust the wheel centres locate on the hub, not the studs, if not I would be concerned.

Regards Mark

What is the thickness where the nuts secure the adaptor to the hub?
Dont think I would be happy using them.
