I gave myself a present
After a lot of effort, I finally got my rims today, but I think they where worth the effort.
They are perhaps not very locost(1240 euro's or about 830 pounds) and a little bit heavy, but I just love the looks of them.
At the front they are 16" 8J ET12 with Toyo Proxes T1-R 205/45-16 tyres
and at the back 16" 9J ET22 with 245/45-16 tyres.
I hope they will fit my Indy, but my car isn't to that stage yet.

Are they expensive then? Don't know wath they cost in the UK, but here in the Netherlands they asked 1600 euro's for them, so I bought
them in Germany. And they are actually 1149 euro's (rims tyres and wheel bolts), but I also had to pay some shipping costs.

they look similar to old ford wheels that you can get for under £100, but that obviously wouldnt be new.

If your's is a standard indy with standard arches then unfortunately there is no way they will fit.I run 7J wheels om mine, et35 with a 205
section tyre. I use the wider front cycle wings that MK do to order as standard wouldn't fit over the front. So the fronts will definitely need
the wider cycle wings and just hope the 8J rim hasn't stretched the tyre too much. Your back wheels are going to stick 38mm further out than
mine and mine only just go under the rear arches. They will also extend 12mm further inboard so you will be very tight to the rear suspension. If you
have clearance on this inner side then you will have to fit some seriously wide rear wings - maybe some dax ones would do.

I don't think the front wings will be very much of a problem, and otherwise I will buy some other wings, Carbonmods sell some 239 wide front
wings.
The back is then perhaps a little bit more difficult. For the inside I could use some wheel spacers, but then the would stick out even further. I then
could search for some wider arches, or make my own ones, which of course would be a little bit more work. But the wheels are for actually for the
Irmscher version of the Caterham, so perhaps they also sell wider arches. And I believe that VM uses the same rims on the VM-77.

I'm using VM rear arches on mine, but the rear of the VM is different, so you need to modify them (VM tapers towards the rear). Actually very
easy to do. See my August 2005 update.
They are now actually a bit too wide for my wheels, so I'm going to look for some spacers.

RFX are the modern take, these are the classic Revolution rims, had a set of 8" x 15 for my Mk1 Escort, sounds like a good price to me. They are
a heavy rim though, changed mine for some Compomotive CXN split rims, much lighter wheel, but much much more money.

Hi Mave, actually I have already read your diary ones, but I forgot that you used VM arches. Could you tell me how wide they are? But as I also have
to modefy these arches, then ofcourse I could also use MK arches, as already have these, and make them a little bit wider. And looking at your website
actually makes it look quit easy. However, I have never worked with fibre glass before.
And yes, the wheels are on the heavy side. The front ones are 17.4 kg and the back 19.8 But hey, looks are important too.

my arches are 330 mm wide.
Of course, I'm always willing to trade my wheels for yours, should you not be willing to modify your arches.

I rather trade my arches. As they are 290 mm wide, they suite your wheels perfectly.
