new vehicle to look for uprights
well i've just got back from the waist land of the local breakers yard on the hunt for uprights that will work for the locost design suspension.
it's a big surprise but if you are on the search for uprights look at the Mazda RX-7. they are just what the doctor ordered, i was able to get a
pair of uprights, disks and calipers for £100 plus vat, and with those breaks i'll be able to stop on a six pence and make change.

Good to know, but I wonder how many RX7 there are in scrappies around the country.
I take it you got a receipt if you paid VAT

I visited my local scrap yard today, and they too had an RX7, the badge on the side said Turbo 2. So, ideal donor for front uprights, engine, rear

Those RX7 calipers are superb - very light 4pots indeed

and if those calipers arent seized , thats a bonus . its a common problem .
you need the twin turbo front suspension not turbo 2 , theyre struts .
