The same old (Sierra Uprights)...
Hey guys, right, It's time to p*** you all off with the same old 'sierra uprights' question! Woooo hoooo! I've decided that
sierra uprights are the way to go since it seems somebody has eaten all of the Cortina units around here or are charging the price of a small african
country. First question, do MK still re-machine the sierra uprights on an exchange basis? Second, whats is the quality like of the aluminium upper
inserts sold by MK and Luego? I realise that the top wishbones need shortening, does anyone sell these already made up or will I have to make/modify
my own? Last but not least, (I bet you're glad ) Will the MKII Esccy rack I intend to use need any mods?
Cheers in advance, Aaron

MK machine out the lower hole themselves now- just take your uprights to them and they'll do them.
Luego's uprights are ali, MK's are hardened steel. Not sure which is better.
The quality of the MK ones is first class (I own a pair).
Not sure about the rack question- the tracking arm of the upright can't be so different between the two that the Escort rack wouldn't fit
I'd imagine but I'm not 100% sure.

To add another question to Aaron's list - how much shorter does the top wishbone need to be when using Sierra upright rather than Cortina?

Aaron,
Check August build diary on my site www.winchester7.com for a pic of the MK steel insert fitted to my Sierra
hubs. The insert fits perfectly and is nicely made.
The rod ends on your escort rack should fit the Sierra uprights without modification AFAIK.
