Please help

Rear drums

Hi,

I have posted this before but received no replies. Come on someone must know the answer.

I have a complete set of rear drums brakes from a Capri. Does any one know if these can be fitted to the Escort axle. Everthing seems to line up and they have a deeper recess on the back plate so the track should be the same. Are there any other problems to consider.

my opinion is to try it and see, if it lines up ok try rebuilding the axle and give the wheels a spin, if there's no graunching noise from deep within whack on the handbrake and see if it stops. The only problem could be plumbing in the brakes, but a bias pedal should sort that out, if its a problem.

Sorry I can't be of any more help, but one thing I have discovered about building this car is that you learn to adapt and overcome things like this. Where there is a will there is a way....

Cheers
Chris
