wiper drive mechanics
I just installed my new wiper driver mechanism on my Cat. Can I just cut the flexible drive 'axle' at length or do I need to keep the
original length?

poor cat...where does the wiper stick out?
if it's like the mechanism in the pic then yes you can shorten them, I have one in my Falcon. Make all the bends as shallow as possible or the
wiper speed will decrease. I also used oil instead of grease as the grease is too thick.

Yes cut to length.. Also don't use copper pipe as above pic, use the proper stuff from CBS etc..

to put a flare on the tube end - I stuck it in my lathe & pushed a big drill bit into the end (chuck in tailstock) with the lathe running
backwards

I chopped mine and used a brake pipe flaring tool, wasn't perfect but enough to hold in the wheelbox.
