Sierra 4x4 rear callipers
Hello all,
I went to put on the new callipers I bought of ebay t’other day and found a possible problem, the pots are fully out but with no fluid or pressure put
into them.
As in the pictures below, there isn’t enough space, when the slider and calliper is mounted, for both the brake pads and the disc to fit.
Is there any way of depressing the piston so that it falls back flush with the calliper? Has anyone had this problem? Also on one of the plates is
twisted slightly so that the groove in it doesn’t match up with the nipple on the brake pad, is this just supposed to twist round in the calliper?

Are they the screwy in type? May need a special tool.. otherwise a G clamp should push them back

Halfords do a caliper rewind tool for about £12 that should do the trick.

Yes they need twisted as they reract. i've used a g clamp to squash and a pair of long nosed pliers for turning with success before.
