Carbon Panels....

Does the Aluminium bodywork on a Locost actually contribute to the overall strenght of the car? Anyways, why hasnt anyone done Carbon Fibre panels yet! Wouldnt me 'that' expensive i worked out about $500 to do a complete car including wings etc. and it would be quite alot lighter, as well as being very sexy and exotic if just painted with clear and polished to show it off

Carbon panels

Not seen anyone with Carbon panels on the sides or floor yet, prob a cost issue here in the UK, rough cost of raw material if u are only buying in small quantities is £15 metre (ish), although there are cheaper sources. Ali/steel more in the locost way of things I suppose.
Awkward stuff to work with to shape, Unless u do it day in and day out Seats and dash and other small "detail"stuff are common though, I will let u know when I have done a whole body in it though For the moment I think I will stick to wings n things
Shug.
