Gaz shock questions!
Arrr me heartys!!!
The locost I am rebuilding has zeemerides up front and "sebac" motorbike shockers on the rear.
Whilst these are fine for use whilst I am rebulding it, I am going to get some gaz coilovers for when its completed.
My question is, what is the width of the brackets people have made for the shocker mounts? Are the all the same or does it differ with make.
Also, the zeemerides and the rear shocks use a M10 size mounting hole - am I right in thinking the Gaz shocks use an M12 bolt hole.
Any help muchly appreciated!
Shaun

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Cheers for that.
I may have a problem here as the brackets for the shockers aren't as wide as the brackets for the wishbones!
Ive just check through the book and Ron lists them all as identical.
Anybody know if you can get gaz shockers with a narrower "bush" in the ends? - I will measure them in the morning!
Thanks

The Gaz shocks I have on the dax have top hat reducers fitted, except for the top of the rear shock which is M14. So What Im saying in a round about
way is that the eyes on the shocks are all m14!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

you could get gaz shocks with rose joints in them. narrower and deal with misalignment better, but they wear quicker and transmit more road noise.
i have rose jointed shocks all round thats because of the front suspension geometry (anti dive facility) and i don't know what make they are.
i was given them by someone who races. Avo i think, but they're 1/2" hole

Hi.
Most of the damper manufacturers make thier bushes as STD in a size of 1 1/4" wide. Most also offer as STD a width of 1 1/2" also.
The dia of the bolt holes they can usually cater for is 7/16" - 12mm - 1/2" As Std.
I am sure they can however cater for specials in both width of bushes and bore if you speak to them.
Cheers Matt
