Two pedal controls

Anyone considered using brake and accelerator pedals and a hand clutch on the gear stick or steering wheel?
Jonathan Rarity's "Ghost" hillclimb car uses this system.
He uses the clutch only for starting and stopping. All shifts are done with a flatshifter mechanism.
He just keeps his right foot planted with a few dabs of left foot braking.
Have a look at the video of his run at Sunday's Doune Hillclimb. As Jonathan runs the car without bodywork, you get a great shot of his feet in action.

That's one scary video!

The thought of hitting one of those trees frightens the life out of me!

IIRC someone has set up a clutch control for hand, but found it a little difficult to use turning right into a busy road.

So I suppose it comes doen to how it is set up, and what you use your car for.

Is "This car is only designed to Turn Left" going to cause a problem at the SVA ?? Or will it get a special clause like vehicles with no headlamps....?

I will try and search out the build that covered this build. He had a foot and hand clutch (ex biker and prefered the hand control but admitted that foot operated clutch for turning out into roads was best).

On the track (as per the very scary video) hand clutch works well, cause no need to merge into traffic on the clutch.

He's whittling on a piece of wood. I got a feeling that when he stops whittling, something's gonna happen. (OUATITW/Cheyenne)
