front uprights?
Im having a bit of trouble making my front uprights. Basically my BMW uprights have two parts, the main upright and then a bolt on strut. My plan was
to modify the bolt on part with a a taper to take the drag link to match sierra dimensions, but this does not look like its going to happen. My
question is can i "invent" my own upright? What dimensions are cirtical to get right?
Does it matter at what angle the steering arm is? If you draw a line between both holes for the balljoint, must they go through the center?
Thanks
Mikkel

I beleive if you get the angle wrong, you get bump steer.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

What about the vertical angle if looking side on to the upright? How much can this be? I believe the difference on the sierra upright is about 30-40
mm, can i go further?
Basically when trying to put my tapered piece in it hits the top bolt point. To solve this i need to take it further out. Will this affect it much?

i think the angle you are talking about there is the castor angle, this is what causes self centering and i think the larger the angle the more this
self centering effect, but leads to heavy steering and tramlining if its too majhoosive, either that or its KPI depending on what you meant by side on
to the upright, which gives steering feel i cant remeber which way makes less steering feel but one way makes heavier steering and more feel, the
other lighter and less feel
