What about the newer 3.2 v6 omega... Pretty rapid with one of them in it. I think the MV6 has more power..
Hi there...
The V6 is quite heavy but makes up for it with excellent performance. Much better than a cologne for example. May as well go for the 3.0 if your
going for a V6 (208bhp as opposed to 167). A newer 3.2 isn't worth it imho - will cost you more, barely has any more power than a 3.0 (is just
lazier with lower cr), and the drive by wire throttle may be a nuisance.
An ex police would be an excellent donor. 3.0 with a manual box (rare to find otherwise) and rear LSD, and cheap cos they have poverty spec trim.
MV6 has no more power than any other model but if you can find a manual one you also have an LSD and will have loads more bits to sell than with a
police car.
Hope that helps...

Do all ex cop cars have an lsd !?!
My mates has the top spec omega, an ex cop car. Extremely rapid but is unbelievably expensive to maintain and fuel, it’s also forever having problems. I can't see how you'd manage to fit all the stuff in the front of locost, as you can't even get your hand in-between the engine in the omega...
My meggy on the other hand has never put a foot wrong and costs me bugger all. What do they say - a car is only as good as it's owner . They
like a drink but then what 1.7 tonne 3 litre car doesn't if you put your foot down? The engine is waaaaay more efficient than the Cologne V6,
including the 24V cossie version. My auto Elite can do 35 mpg!
A few pics here of the engine in a westy. This one running on throttle bodies...

As to whether all cop cars have the lsd i'm not totally sure. I think manual ones would, but worth checking with the guys here...

Hope you're not trying to say the Cossie 24v has a drinking problem Liam, I'd like you to know they are excellent and have undamaged
livers............................well, actually mine never knew what "above 20 mpg" actually meant, so yep, you're right!!!!
Went bloody fast though, kick meggy ass any day!!! The 238hp helps!!! (one of the few times a rolling road will show MORE than factory figs is
in an scorpio.......Ford didn't seem to want to mention what cosworth had done to their ageing engine!!! )
Lol - must have been a good one then! Me and my mat dragged our cars up a bypass. His was a pre-bugeye 24v so only 193 quoted if i recall (compared
to the meggy's 208, and a bugeye 24v also 208 i believe - funny that). I pulled away convincingly, however at about 100mph he reported a loud
bang (which he feared was gearbox destruction). Nothing seemed broken though so it could have been clearing an exhaust obstruction. Alas we never
got round to a rematch before he flogged it where the results may possibly have been less convincingly in favour of the VX.
