Steering column / paddle shift
Jay k - 3/2/09 at 09:07 PM

I am looking at buying a paddleshift that bolts on to the sierra steering column fixing bracket, but I have the adjustable type column fitted.

Is there anyway of this fitting or do I have to buy a fixed column.

Thanks in advance

I think column clamp might get in the way.

I replaced the top casting/lock with a turned ally one. On the adjuster I had to lock out the reach adjustment with a plate but the up/down is OK.

It should be achievable if you're going to use a cable - it'll work with paddles too but you might have to make adjustments to the rod lengths if you want to adjust the column.

My first column was an adjustable one and I managed to strip away all of the gubbins - it was still adjustable, but would've needed to be done with a spanner rather than the standard lever.

The paddleshift is the pathfinder type, which slides over the column and bolts to the column mounting bracket.

To me it looks like it will not slide over the column and also not sit flush without cutting the original bracket down.

My other thought is that i might not be able to adjust the column so should go to a fixed column for ease.

Am I right or not thinking straight???
