Gear and hand brake gaiters
Avoneer - 24/2/04 at 09:22 PM

Hi,
What have people done for the gear lever and handbrake gaiters. I have found the Tiger ones to be a bit "stiff" and lacking in any finesse.
And how have people attached them to the tunnel tops?
Any help/advice or pics appreciated.
Cheers,
Pat...

I cut new ones from vinyl fixed with escutcheons made from 3mm aluminium, held on with stainless countersunk socket head bolts.

Works for me!

Cheers

Chris

use a sierra leather gearlever one - they are only 14 quid brand new from ford and not only look nice they are real leather tooo

Dont laugh, I used a Transit one. Cut down the number of "bellows" to the size you want and make a surround to fit it to the tunnel top. Looks far better than it sounds.

Try one from an MGB --- attaches to the tunnel via a nice chrome ring.

Or black on the later rubber bumper models!

Have a stooge round your local scrappy. Plenty of cars come with leather gaiters as standard fitment items so you should find one suitable.
