Interior Edges

Hi,

I have recklessly mounted my megasquirt ecu inside the car and it is in the passenger space.

It does not have radius edges - this will fail the IVA...

Is there an easy way of putting some padding in it to give it the approprate radius or shold I move it out of the way for the test?

Thanks

Frank

Yes anything without the proper radius will fail.

Rubber edging? or fix some carpet over it?

It might just be simpler to move it

Do you mean everything behind the dash needs to have a radius?

No If it's behind the dash it just needs to be secured properly and cables tidied.

If it sticks done below then yes it needs radius protection.

frank said in passenger space in the car, sounds like not behind the dash?

Some examiners still require things behind the dash as radiused!

I found it easier just to blank the area off, by having a piece of ali/perspex/ply etc, above where the pax's feet would be. Meaning that this area could not be accessed by feet/hands etc...

they test up under the dash with the 160mm sphere its pretty big so likely they wont be able to get up there.

They really like that little orb don't they? Ask the guy whether it does what Woody Allen's orb used to do...
