Morning all
I'm slowly going through sorting out all the little things I wasn't happy with the car but did the job for SVA.
Next up is a nice solution to sort out the gap between the steering colum top cowl and the dashboard. I had a solution which did the job okay but
just didn't look quite right.
Anyone here come up with a nice tidy and easy to make solution for covering the gap?
photos appreciated as always
Cheers
Nigel
I,m just about to address the same problem on my car,
My thoughts were to attach some of the "brush" material that is found on a door letter box to stop drafts etc ,
Thoughts were to attach it on the back face of the dash panel & the reason for using this would still allow me to adjust the column.
Am i barking mad or do you think this would work?
cheers

Nigel,
Might be worth a squiz through Hellfire's build diary - I used a similar approach and fabricated an ally cowel covered with black vinyl to get a
more OEM type look.
The other option is to get hold of the longer plastic cowel from an adjustable height Sierra column which has enough length to go right through the
dash.
Hi Nick
My original solution was similar to Hellfire's cover though mine never looked quite right.. Maybe I'm trying to reinvent the wheel when I
should be improving my metal work skills to make a better cover in the same style as the last one.
Just thought there may be another solution which looked as good if not better and easy to fabricate.
I guess you could make some kind gaiter arrangement out of vinyl. Some tin tops have this sort of thing to allow column adjustment.
