Hi,
Has anyone got any good ideas on how to fix internal trim panels so that there are no screws showing when finished?
I'm trying to get a really "clean" look!
Cheers
Internal trim as in the padded type pannels you make to make it look neat?, Velcro, available from me in 25 mm self adhesive, just make sure both
surfaces are smooth and clean.
Prices are as follows Both sides ie hook and loop 25m reels £ 13.45 inc Vat. i can post FOC for Locost builders members. 25m is probably enough to do
2 cars so team up with someone else. Cant split a 25m reel unfortunately so i can only post to one of the builders if you team up with someone else.
Hi Graham
I used black screw cover caps from "FOCUS" £1.79 for 50 they look neat with black plastic trim.
also sticking of U trim I got some from MAC1 . Its small U trim but inside has a thin bead of black addhesive,I found it ideal for internal triming
and also for front wing edges.
Its £2.00per metre contact mark or colin at MAC1 0114 2619633
I like the velcro idea, but we have trim buttons, they are black plastic and fit into a 5mm hole. there is a hole through the middle with expandable legs on the underside. Another button fits into the hole and spreads the legs to grip, they are easily removable and neat
I toyed with the idea of some sort of Z bracket and clipping the panel on (if that makes sense) but looked a bit hard.
I decided to "glue" a contersunk bolt into the ply I'm using, fill where the screw head is and sand flat, and use a wingnut under the
rear wing. Bad explanation sorry. I'll use some screws and caps at the bottom where they can't be seen
Cheers
for the dash we used studs fitted to the dash see here....
