Seatbelt mounting eye bolt question
carpmart - 11/1/11 at 03:39 PM

Is there such a thing as a 90 degree bent seatbelt eye bolt?

Due to space issues, I need the thread to be at right angles to the eye.

Thanks in advance

I don't think so, and you wouldn't want to use anything that wasn't designed for the purpose.

Can you not just use bolted fixings for the belts instead of clip-on?

Yes I could but I have a set of clip on belts. Are you suggesting to bolt with a big washer through the clip on fitting?

I have a similar problem to you but only with the passenger. A bit of a lack of leg room for them

For 'harnesses', but not seabelts:

Sorry, didn't realise you already had the belts. That could work, but the harness end plate must be free to swivel. A bolt with washer would look a bit of a bodge, but a flange-headed bolt with a suitable length, maybe 10-15 mm, plain (unthreaded) section under the head might work. Depends on the design of the harness clips I guess.

top hat spacer for belt to swivel on,bolted from above

A clip on belt will not go over a 7/16" bolt.
