Hi -
Saw the recent thread on PVA glue - very useful, as I'm well into trimming up the trans tunnel top. Unfortunately, job not yet finished, but the
spray-on adhesive is. No recognisable brand/maker, (bought at one of the shows), so which of the High Street brands will be best, for
vinyl leathercloth to ally sheet? And where from, please?
Am sure that someone on this Forum has the expertise. Hope to hear from you.
Evo-Stik works well in my opinion. Just dont get the solvent free stuff! I have also used the spray on version, but it isnt as good as the regular
tubes/can.
I have also used other brands, but none have lasted/stuck quite as well.

All nice and locost
have used evostick, dunlop and unbranded stuff. All seems to work about the same for carpets and so on as long as the prep is right (ie clean!)
I like the aerosol stuff, find it easier to apply.
you can get 1 litre tins of contact adhesive from CBS very good value to my mind (about £10). Definitely not solvent free.
I've just done the tunnel top on my 442 and used a non-branded spray from my local hardware shop, seems to work fine. Just make sure as already
said, it's clean and spray on both surfaces then leave for 3-4 mins before sticking together.
HTH
Dont buy the no nonsense cheapo one from Screwfix its shite and has about the same adhesive quality.
Cheers,
Bob
Hi Everybody;
Many thanks for the tips. I guess I'll be off to B&Q to check out their sticky-stuff offerings.
BTW - I noted Daddylonglegs sign-off comment - "Why does the last 5% of the build seem to take 95% of the time???".
Doesn't it just?? And the finish straight seems to get longer with time. Or age??
