Harness advice - shoulder mountings not 15/6" what to use?
Norfolkluegojnr - 14/3/12 at 06:14 PM

Hi Guys,

A recently acquired an excellent pair of Radical harnesses to use in my Striker - the only problem is the mounting points on the shoulder straps.

The holes appear to be M8 or 5/8" which means the standard 5/16" bolts are way to big.

Currently, I only have a three point mount behind the seats, a loop arrangement welded to the top chassis rail.

My question is: what bolts to use for mounting, and am i safe to drill through the rail, or is it better to have a flat bracket welded onto the rail to mount too? or maybe an L shape bracket bolted to the existing loop bracket? I'm sue pics will help, so i'll try and get some uploaded!

Anyone go experience of using this style of harness in a 7?

Ideally you want a 10.9 or equivelant bolt

If you decide to mount through the rail you really need to weld in a solid boss of decent size first.

By the way 5/8" and 8mm are not close in size, do you mean 5/16" ?

Cheers

Standard seatbelt/harness fittings are 7/16"UNF, and need to be at least grade 8.8 or equivalent.

I would use 10.9 flange head bolts LINKY or 8.8 at a pinch another linky
