New seat pads
Davegtst - 31/3/12 at 01:07 PM

Just wanted to share with you my new seat pads. I had them made to my design so they fit my Triton seats perfectly and had them covered in very nice soft leather. Cheaper than JK Composites too. What do you reckon?

They look great

Very smart! How they held in place? Do you use adhesive?

Davegtst - 31/3/12 at 05:38 PM

Yep i used evo-stik timebond contact adhesive. Seems to be very good stuff, got a bit high though

I particularly like the "bum" pad, have you got any suppliers and pattern I can latch on to?

rdodger - 31/3/12 at 07:26 PM

Group buy?

Hmmm, i'll ask the trimmer on Monday how much he could do a few for. Anyone interested?

jakeob - 1/4/12 at 10:56 AM

I need some of these, ASAP

jakeob - 1/4/12 at 11:00 AM

Problem i am having is when i wear my helmet the seat pushes my head to far forward. I would probably leave the top bit off maybe that would help me

rdodger - 1/4/12 at 11:08 AM

I would be interested subject to price.

Me too! Depending on price.

brookie - 1/4/12 at 04:32 PM

me 2 but just want bum and back pad

ashg - 1/4/12 at 04:59 PM

i would be interested if the price is right. i also have a set of triton wide's in my car so they will fit nicely.

Davegtst - 2/4/12 at 09:35 AM

I've spoken to the trimmer. Just waiting to hear back what sort of deal he can put together.

Davegtst - 2/4/12 at 04:13 PM

OK got a price now. As a group buy for 5 or more sets he will do them for £130 inc p+p.

This is for a a 2 seat set of 2 base, 2 back and 2 headrest pads. The pads are 12mm thick covered in bicast leather which is really soft and far far better than any vinyl. All you have to do is glue them on. Let me know if you are interested.

Davegtst - 4/4/12 at 08:14 AM

I take it from the lack of response there isn't much interest in these anymore. Any reason why?

ashg - 4/4/12 at 08:43 AM

personally its a bit too expensive for me. was thinking in the £50-£80ish range.

scoop - 4/4/12 at 08:59 AM

JK are £69.99 each and are better looking ( in my opinion) think that may be the problem.

Yeah i was dissapointed when he told me the price i was hoping he could do them for less than £100. I've spoken to him again but he says he can't really move on price because of the cost of the leather. Shame as i've used this guy loads in the past and he has never let me down. £50 to £80 wouldn't even cover the cost of the materials though. I do still think £130 is a good price for these but i guess it's not called locostbuilders for nothing. At least mine will be unique.

Price for me too.

Would it make much of a difference if he did them vinyl?

And yet another cost-concious soul. Have only just picked up on the feedback above.
Thanks for trying for a deal.
