Glassfibre, Trim + Superglue?/
Dick Axtell - 21/7/12 at 01:59 PM

Hi Everybody, hope this hasn't been queried b4 (Apologies if it has).

I need to fix trim around the 2 apertures in my g/f seats. Was thinking of using plain rubber trim section, fixed with superglue - i.e. cyano-acrilate stuff. Does this stuff react with g/f resin? Or will there be no adverse results?

Has anybody tried using s/g this way, if so, with what effects, please?

CA glue works well with Fiberglass, Polyester or Epoxy based.
But Not so well with rubber.

Hi we used the U trim with the metal grip inserts all round our fibreglass seats
and in the seat belt holes
Hold well & wont come off , Iva man liked it .
See our picture archive (interior trim).
Good luck.
