Just a quick question:
Can you attemp to modify a bucket seat in order to make them fit.
What had in mind was cutting away the inner side of the bucket seat which is currently being stopped by the seatbelt and handbreak?
If i was to do this would it defer from the integrity of the seat or once its bolted down not make any difference?
Many thanks

Well presented.... No Modifying but actually i do mean making it smaller so yes i meant to do that!!!! Cough!
Unless the back of the seat is supported (e.g. by the rear bulkhead) then cutting the sides will significantly weaken the seat.
The back of the seat is supported all the way up the back so that isn't a problem.
I did just such mods on a pair of seats. It took a lot of work and at the end I wished I had just bought seats that fit.
Just because you can, does not mean you should. Just my opinion.
macc man - You don't happen to have any pics or a brief explination on what you did?
Once you get the fabric off and the padding i am assuming your cutting into fibreglass/plastic?
The seats were based on a metal frame covered with foam and vinyl. I had to narrow them to fit the seven. I only paid £30 for the pair but spent ages making them fit. I had to cut the frame and reweld it together. Then modify the foam and vinyl. They looked ok but not really worth all the effort. If yours are fibreglass it is a different prospect. Might be better to sell them and buy more suitable ones.
Hi all
Thanks for your advice on this subject.
So this weekend i went about trying to get the seats to fit. Manage to make some very slight adjustments to the frame (Metal tubing) which was very
easy indeed.
They now fit!!! YAY
Next weekend will be spent trying to release the clutch as it is stuck half on!! Any advice in a new topic which i have started elsewhere.
Thanks
