Steering Column Question (photo inside)

I saw this Westfield at Stoneleigh

and because of the carbon took the photo above.

It wasn't until I got home I noticed the steering column; and lack of stalks/shroud etc.

I know it's easy to do away with the ignition key and shroud but what about the indicator stalks? Yes, you could remove them and have a button but surely that's very inconvenient when driving on the road?

It can be inconvenient if you put all the switches on the Dashboard - that's how my car is.

Lately I've been thinking about moving some key switches onto the steering wheel, maybe Indicators, High beam, Horn etc... with a curly cable to a connector behind the Dash'

That would be cool too

That's exactly what I'm doing - will have the horn on the steering wheel centre push, and indicator buttons on the wheel itself. Light switches will still be on the dash though. Plain column looks a lot nicer, IMO.

Is an indicator switch on the dash allowed for MOT etc? Unfortunately that's a no-go for me as I can't reach the dash once my harnesses are on.

Move to South Wales, every ones indicators are broken

Why don't you have the indicator switch next to the handbrake?

I want a removable steering wheel

Single stalk with everything on?

Push buttons on the column but not sure how that would work with the removable aspect of it

I looked at this as my Raw column is similar to that pictured.

For IVA I either use or if time allows, do what I plan to do post IVA - which is to extend stalks from behind the dash - should be simple enough to make up a metal lever that passes through the dash at the point at which the stalk pivots, then extends out to behind the wheel to neatly be at my finger tips.

When looking in to this I have noted that Saab stalks come out from the dash (or flat area of the column) as standard so you could consider these. However they are pretty ugly so I want to create something more aesthetically pleasing.
