Contemplating dash finishes atm. What are people experience with flocking?
There appears the be pro's offering the service and 'home kits' for a fraction of the cost.
Is it hard wearing? How does it react when damp or wet?
Comments / Opinions?
Home kits?? I know it looks nice that's for sure, can't help with the rest though.
I have seen it on a dash of a very expensive car done by a Pro company. Looked perfect.
I have also seen it on a dash of a cheap car (Fiat Cinquecento) that the guy had done himself and it was.... pretty good.
He did admit that it took a couple of practice goes and that he spent a lot of time on the preparation of the dash first. But the end result was well
worth the small outlay. He used the sub £100 machine, but not got details of it as it was a couple of years ago.
Have a search for Flockingfantastic - will be having My G27 dash and dash top flocked when the time comes .
I have seen Autoflock's work and it is spot on, owner is a user on here.
Pretty sure its weather proof as it is small strands of plastic
This guy seems to be well respected on ANOther forum I frequent The Flock Shop .
HTH.

Nylon is small strands of plastic but in UV and constant damp it rots. I'd be worried about mildew on a car kept outside without proper sealing.
