Flocking?
AntonUK - 2/6/14 at 09:20 PM

Contemplating dash finishes atm. What are people experience with flocking?

There appears the be pro's offering the service and 'home kits' for a fraction of the cost.

Is it hard wearing? How does it react when damp or wet?

Comments / Opinions?

Home kits?? I know it looks nice that's for sure, can't help with the rest though.

I have seen it on a dash of a very expensive car done by a Pro company. Looked perfect.
I have also seen it on a dash of a cheap car (Fiat Cinquecento) that the guy had done himself and it was.... pretty good.
He did admit that it took a couple of practice goes and that he spent a lot of time on the preparation of the dash first. But the end result was well worth the small outlay. He used the sub £100 machine, but not got details of it as it was a couple of years ago.

I have seen Autoflock's work and it is spot on, owner is a user on here.

Pretty sure its weather proof as it is small strands of plastic

Nylon is small strands of plastic but in UV and constant damp it rots. I'd be worried about mildew on a car kept outside without proper sealing.
