quick release
wheelsinsteadofhooves - 25/11/04 at 11:51 AM

quick one - is a quick release steering boss sound as a pound for sva???
have heard yes and/or no, but only from a mate's brother's girlfriend's sister's brief aquaintance behind the bike shed

I believe that my source is equally reliable!

People have passed SVA with these things, others have failed, so I believe that it depends on:

1. Wind direction;
2. Luck;
3. Whether the inspector had his leg over the night before.

rgds,

David

best attempt would be call it an anti theft device and make sure the wheel is fully padded etc etc..

looks like ill have to ply the inspector with booze/money/drugs/chicks(blokes - no room for discrimination here)

not that theyre suseptable to such offers of cours!

could always try calling the local test center and ask - mitcham is prob nearest, where i'm likely to go...

i have one but the inspector didn't like it much, talked about certificates of crash test safety, we went to a local scrappy and fitted a sierra wheel, might as well take the original to the sva remember to leave it on after!!

good call, guess it would have a nice cuddly centre pad too. dont want to be too blatent though that ill rip it apart and do it my way straight after the sva, nor want to essentially build the car twice in terms of buying bits. another thing to add to my scrappy list.
