Indicator stalk upgrade
rossgts - 10/4/15 at 01:42 PM

Hi guys,

New to the world of kitcars and i've just bought myself a GTS W7DE and obviously i need to start tinkering with it. I don't like the Sierra stalks and wondering if anyone can recommend a direct replacement that's easier on the eye or if it's a case of finding something I like a modifying it?

Welcome on board! Was this the GTA W7DE that was on eBay the other week, per chance??

I'm not a fan of the traditional indicator stalks, and much prefer dash switches. As such, I chose the brushed aluminium flush mounted Savage items, but this will require some modification to the wiring.

I have a normal GTS Panther, not the wide body one.

I modified my Sierra stalks - I'll see if I can find the instructions again (it was done about 10 years ago!).

Yeah I bought the gts off eBay last week. Loving it so far. I built a tiger years ago but had to sell it soon after unfortunately.
The aluminium ones in the link are the kind of thing I had in mind. The car us pretty track focused but I do want to make it a bit prettier and personalise it a bit.

I used late MGF on mine, (and the column) they look a bit more modern than the Sierra, I think.

The mgf set-up does look a lot better. I like your dash , looks very tidy. Like you say the Sierra gear does look a bit old.
Have you fitted the mgf stalks on a Ford column?

Fitted complete column, but they wouldn't be that difficult to fit to the Sierra. Same as Rover 800 and Freelander, can be had for between £10 to £20 a set.

I might look in to swapping the column as the cowling etc that you have there looks a lot neater

A few companies do alloy stalks for Sierra columns.
