Hi i purchased a new set of harnesses for my car but when i installed them they are to long really as the straps are really loose and flap about.
I know i cant go cutting the excess off etc. So how are they measured to ensure i get the correct length next time.
Harnesses for tip tops will be a lot longer to suit reaching back to rollcage/harness bar which could be a a fair distance behind driver, so you may
have bought tintop sized ones.
Most suppliers do specfic ones to suit caterhams etc.

IIRC I had a similar issue with the Sabelt harnesses I fitted to My MK Indy - once pulled tight I had too much strap left flapping about. I got some
velcro strap and made smallish loops to tie the ends down rather than cutting them and leaving frayed ends.
ETA...you might be able to do something similar with rubber bands.

Schroth belts allow you to alter the length of the belts.
In you are intending to equip Se7en type cars with four point harnesses it's better to fit ones which have pull-up lap straps - much easier to
adjust.
HTH.
