I used some sealer just in case of rattle, well you never know do you

I would be tempted to use rivets + PU adhesive. On the other hand, why bother riveting if using PU?

Cheers,
David

Just realized I left the lid off my Sikaflex, is there anything the same I can get locally (diy store) instead of ordering it from somewhere??

ta,
Rich.

I used PU and rivets, a pass of PU on each edge of the ERW to make sure that no moisture could get between the ally and the steel (electrowhatsit corosion)

See if theres any local to you there,

Dont know if Focus/Hombase sell PU adhesives.

If you have any car bodyshops nearby they may have some.

Mark you are talking about Galvanic corrosion i believe. Metals that are far apart on the galvanic scale react due to an exchange of electrons between the metals creating a small voltage, any water in there will create a 'chemical wet cell' promoting corrosion. Incidentally this phenomenon is the reason why thermocouples work. But they dont have the corrosion problem.
