it's done....2 more there now....not as clear as they could be, but not dark...

ned - 1/4/05 at 01:58 PM

colibriman,
how have you mounted the bright six? this is this exactly where i plan to mount mine.

Is it behind or throught he dash? is there a slot or seperate holes for the lights?

cheers,

Ned.

much better lol thats a really cool dash i might steal it

colibriman - 1/4/05 at 02:04 PM

all the dials and the bright 6 are mounted on aluminium fixed to the back of the dash with cutouts for them.
Its a slot for the Bright 6. there's also carbon leather on top of the bright 6 with a slot in the leather...with rubber trim around the leather edges.

cheers
Colin

colibriman - 1/4/05 at 02:06 PM

took a lot of time and I'm still not entirely happy with it....

mookaloid - 1/4/05 at 02:06 PM

I put boot trim edging on bottom of dash for SVA, it kinda fell off afterwards er within about 10 minutes

Bright 6 - its the warning lights - they are a set of 6 led's ....with an overlay of symbols...

tri - 1/4/05 at 02:15 PM

i think its a stipe of lights with 6 of them indicators battery and some others m dads buying on for our car

tri - 1/4/05 at 02:16 PM

tri - 1/4/05 at 02:30 PM

just saw one of your pics and it brought back pimp my ride when people fix there cars with duck tape

colibriman - 1/4/05 at 02:31 PM

wat's work? haha.....

basically yes...

tri - 1/4/05 at 02:32 PM

lol unlucky school hols for me but dads at work so i don't get to work on car

colibriman - 1/4/05 at 02:32 PM

duck tape is essential stuff....

tri - 1/4/05 at 02:34 PM

mascing tape more fun cause you can draw on it while thinking of ideas. so its both practical and helps pass time

David Jenkins - 1/4/05 at 02:48 PM

I made some fake dials out of paper using a drawing package. These were then stuck on a hardboard dash using some art shop low-stick glue (similar to the old "Cow Gum" ). These could be pulled off, stuck on elsewhere, and generally moved around until I was happy.
The advantage was that at the end I knew that I could see all the dials when my hands were on the wheel, could reach all the controls, etc.
You don't need a drawing package of course - just cut out a few circles of paper or thin card and use those.

David

tri - 1/4/05 at 02:54 PM

lol i am doing that right now

Humbug - 1/4/05 at 04:52 PM

I "photocopied" my dials on my PC scanner, then printed them out so I will have exactly what they should look like once I get round to doing the dash

givemethebighammer - 1/4/05 at 08:20 PM

Warning lights, oil pressure gauge and temp gauge right in front of me. The rest arranged in centre of dash.

I cut circles out of card the same size as the gauges and used blu tac to try different positions on the dash until I found something I liked.

Crazy Jay - 2/4/05 at 02:47 PM

Im really confused wit my dash, cause i've got R1 clocks that stick out quite a lot, how will i be able to make it SVA friendly??

Northy - 2/4/05 at 06:15 PM

This is how I did mine. Oh, the Sierra wheel seems to have fallen off, didn't realise! Rescued attachment 2Interior.jpg
