Whats the best size of harness to use for a 7 type kit?
Why is there such a price difference from 2" harness to 3" harness (£45 for 2, £140 for 3)
What adv/dis advantages aginst them?
ALso do they need to be E marked or BS
cheers Colin
3" harnesses are used mainly for race use afaik and some regs specify the use of 3", 2" are not allowed in some
formulae/regulations.
The normal sva requirement is that you must be able to undo them with one hand which is why I believe some people are wary of using aero type twist
buckles.

3" straps give you less cleavage if you have man boobs
you are probably looking at different types of harnesses, that would explain the price difference.
the cheaper harnesses have a normal seatbelt type buckle in the middle of the lap belt with the shoulder straps sewn to the lap belt.
the more expensive type will have a twist reslease buckle with all straps fastened to the buckle.
if you cant release a twist type buckle with one hand, the straps probably arent tight enough.

I believe 3" is specified as it spreads the load more / gives more restraint, making the chance of injury less in a crash.
Me, i choose 3" sabelt. Great price, full FIA markings as well.
well, thanks for all of your input, that is a great help.
Is FIA approval ok for SVA tho?
seems its a little open to interpretation. I think the rules say E marked or better. I recon fia is better, but i've heard some testers aren't keen on the twist release, on the other hand, i know kit car manufacturers getting through with twist buckles (Ultima being one)
3" are also FAR more comfortable.
When time comes, defo 3" for me

Not 100% certain but I thought the SVA rule was that release must be with one hand in one direction. I.e. a button rather than a twisting action.
Is this correct?
Andy
I agree that 3" are more comfortable, and are required for most motorsports applications, BUT I just bought a pair of Luke 4 points and these are
2" with 3" webbing at the bodily contact points.

That was refreshing was to talk to someone who knew what i was saying, but as they where the importer to the uk its not surprising.
For great pricing on Sabelt, call Andy Johns of ADR on 01246 456358.
Mention Simes and the price doubles!
Why involve a middle man, unless i've been misled just go straight to the uk importer (first hit on a google search for sabelt and uk)
