I seem to remember seing a rightangle drive adaptor for connecting the speedo to a type 9 box.
Anyone got any ideas where I might get one from?

ouch!! £££££!!!

you could try here: http://www.speedograph-richfield.com/html/minature_gearbox.html

but having seen the price of one g/box would guess cost is about the same - sorry!

Got mine from Speedy Cables, can't remember exactly how much, but less than £60, for sure, I think 45 or 50. atb Ray

Thanks for the help folks.
I think I'm going to try another tack.
The drive was not to drive a mechanical speedo it was to drive the pulse generator that came with my gauges from the States.
I have ordered a new magnetic pulse generator from RS for £8 and will point this at the prop shaft bolts and interface it with my speedo.
It's considerably cheaper option than the right angle drives.

I have one from a mgb tranny but I have not yet checked to see if it will fit a ford box. Hoping or its going to be a electric speedo instead of the smiths.
