Horn position
Pdlewis - 23/8/06 at 06:16 PM

Hello,

I have just had to replace my indicator stalks because the hazzard switch had failed and the new stalks do not have a horn on the end.

So my question is, is it ok to put the horn button on the dash? as my MOT is due this week and dont want it failing on something so simple

Cheers

Paul

Get one of these flip switches that will fit within the Steering wheel radius and ther should not be any problems

short answer is - yes, dash mounted is OK.

If you are using sierra column switches better check the wires. They changed in 1987.

Just needs a big readable label that SHOUTS at the tester HORN.

You can put a push button on the dash as I did, but you don't need a horn for SVA anyway, but you will need one for use on the road and for subsequent MOTs.
