R1 clock mounting

How have other R1 guys gone about mounting the R1 clocks.
Looking at the 2003 clocks, I can't figure out how to mount them nicely.

I sandwiched the clock within the dash.

Split the clocks, and use the back of the clocks as a template and Dremel out the hole. The front can then screw onto the back with the fibre glass dash in the middle.

I'll take a few piccies this week and put then in my archive. At the moment I've only got 7meg pics and I can't upload them.

Hi,

I'm not too sure how the R1 clocks differ from our blade ones but here you can just about see how we did ours - sorry if the pics a bit big

simple braketry from behind but in my case i opted to leave it proud due to its shape

I think the best way is as per Ruskino80's car - nice and simple and clutter free.

2003 R1 clocks are the ones with the built in shift lights as well aren't they?

indeed they do have A shift light

My 98 R1 clocks are mounted by sandwiching the dash between the front and rear cases.

I took mine apart and made a card board template that was a good fit to the housing. I then traced this onto masking tape on the dash and cut it out. Make sure the hole is a bit too small and file it out to fit. see my picture archive for the finished result
