What is the best sort of paint for the back of fibreglass seats? I have got MAC#1 seats that have a plain fibreglass mat finish on the back,
but I want a plain black look.
I was thinking of hammerite, paint then a coat of spray.... any other ideas?
Look for flocoat/flowcoat. It is a laminating top coat used to cover GRP work. It dries to give a smooth non sticky finish.
I used black board paint from Wilkinsons, as the recommendation of other builders.

I wouldn't paint GRP with hammerite/smoothrite without talking to someone who's done it, I have my doubts it would stick properly being
designed for rusty metal and I've no idea how compatible the solvents are (hate to melt the seat).
Flowcoat (as ^^^) is the proper stuff to use and easy enough to get.
p.s. I'd be interested in how it turns out as I have the same seats but was thinking of just leaving them matt effect
Boot polish, the liquid stuff with a sponge applicator.

I used gloss black enamel on the inside of my bodytub. No problems with it so far. Easy to keep the mud off etc.
Another vote for flow coat - it is designed for the job, covering the naked matting and giving it a smooth, slightly waxy finish.
Halfords matt black, got way better coverage than the smoothrite.
Maybe the can was running a little low ?
spray on hammerite smooth in satin black works a treat.
