Gauges from US
RichB - 6/11/07 at 01:28 PM

Hi all

I think I have decided to get a set of teleflex gauges from www.haneline.com but before I order them I thought I'd check with you guys if anyone has used them?

Does the fact that they're American make any difference at all in terms of senders/sensors etc?

My other question is that the speedo goes up to 120mph. Realistically is this sufficient for a 20v 4age seven? Obviously I'm only thinking of trackdays(!) but in all fairness how fast do these cars go?

Cheers
Rich

I'd say it should get to 120mph easily depending on gearing.

Cheers

Hhhmm 120 may not be enough.

Hey all, no that's probably not sufficient.

I have done 214km's an hour on the zandvoort racetrack, but I still had enough to go on the rev counter just no more track, But I can't drive very well and brain tells to brake to soon etc etc etc. My speedo is calibrated very very acurate and displays numerical whcih I datalogged for checking later so I'm pretty sure it's actually 214.
GPS shows no difference to speedo at 195km

theoreticly I could do 245km an hour, but aero doesn't allow I think. time to head for germany some day!

I have 13" 185-60R13 yokohama's
stock AE86's T50 box (very short 5th gear)
and a live axle 3.92diff or taller

I think if you have a sierra DOHC diff and stock T9 pinto box on my wheels, You would never get away with 120mph on a speedo, it would be flat in the corner half way down the straight.

well mapped 20v's are strong little buggers.

The search engine is your friend

I'm sure BkLoco used guages from them, he had nothing but praise for them.
The guy was super helpful, they were really cheap and they look great on his car.
The search engine is a pain in the arse and i can never find what i'm looking for!

Thanks for your replies - cheers for the link, i couldn't find this before (I did look honest!)
I've just had a look in the back of Evo and a similiar spec'd cateringvan (150bhp & 500kg) has a top end of 112mph. I can imagine getting a bit more hp- but I reckon my Luego will end up being over 600kg.
These gauges might just do the job, and the exchange rate at the moment makes them even more of a bargain.
