took the plunge to apply voltage to see what the high level sensor signal (pin 6) needs and it appears to be any voltage over 8.0 V.

Never got response from Racetech at all.

That's the Hall-effect signal line isn't it? That's very high for a bare sensor but if it's a more modern amplified sensor signal then it's fair enough... I suppose pin 7 is for low level signals suggesting that pin 6 is intended for already amplified signals.....

without looking up data sheets, I would expect Hall effect voltage to be in tens-hundreds of millivolts; the fact it mentions ecu make me wonder if this line is one from ECU after ecu has conditioned the hall effect voltage?

the instructions that come with the guage are not very good.

anyways, no smoke came out so I will make my sensor to present 0 - 9 V and see what happens!

inicidentlly, there is a small switch that is used to toggle between odometer and trip display; it seem if the trip is shown, the distance is not oncremented - not been able to see if odo is incremented.
