I've taken the inertia seat belts out of the donor 205 and foolishly let them fully retract rather than clamping the belts to prevent it happening.

Now, I cannot pull them out of their housings no matter how or at what angle the housings are held. there seems to be now easy way to dismantle them.

Any help, please?

STOP!!

don't dismantle them, I design them, and you will really struggle at home!

the G sensor lock is on.

you need to getb them set at the angle, in all threee axis that they were at in the car, then they will extract easily.

(it's sad but I can do it by ear now)

STOP! the spring'll take your head off!

sit them back in the car as close as possible as you can get them. if the belt's in the way, shim the mounting bolts holes out from the bodyshell.

it's always worked for me in the past, but equally, just rotating and fiddling has too. they can't be sooooo sensitive to angle as they still reel out when the car's parked on a side slope or a steep hill.

Also if you've let them retract all the way.

Once locked they need to retract a little to release the pawl and thats not always easy if the reel is wound full of belt.
