can you mount the seats directly through the floor, I've heard you need 100mm long x 100mm wide x 4mm thick plates, the 2 front ones mounted on the inside of the car an the rear on the under side of the car ??? can anyone confirm this ??
Mine were bolted through the floor using two 4mm strips acroos the front and rear bolts to spread the load, using 8.8 bolts, no concerns from my SVA for me
my locost seat pads are bolted straight in to floor
Mine were bolted through the floor. Backs through the steel crossmembers but fronts just through the alu plate. I put some nice large washers on to
spread the load and they were absolutely fine for SVA.

Yes you can.
Just used large washers and it's fine.

Whats your floor made from? Steel or Alu
Cobra seats bolted to the welded in steel floor using fixings supplied with seats, large diameter washers on the underside, no problems at SVA.
Where the floor is non-metallic there's an SVA requirement for spreader plates.
Otherwise they just have to be "...secured firmly to the chassis or other obvious load bearing part...". That must include the (ally) floor
panels as thats all mine are fixed to. I have large 60mm ally washers on mine.

ive just finished making some unadjustable seat brackets and putting the bolts through the floor and them... i think its 3 mm steel i used...seem pretty damn strong
Hi
If you think about it the seats in a typical seven, (or most cars for that matter), take very little load, the high loading is taken by the harness.
The exception being a rear end shunt, but then most Locost seats are fairly close to the rear bulkhead. Providing the flooring is sufficient then M8s
and penny washers should be fine.
Don't you think it strange that you are proposing making seat mounts stronger than those required for the harness'?
